FuelPilot
PRIVACY

Your store information belongs to you.

FuelPilot is a public application, but customer operating data is not published.

Our promise: Providing information is optional. FuelPilot does not sell, share, pool, benchmark, or use store addresses, fuel volume, sales, pricing, inventory, margins, or competitor entries to help anyone identify locations for competing stores.

Store, pricing, and operating data

Independent FuelPilot accounts use Google Firebase Authentication. Stores saved with those accounts are processed by Google Cloud Firestore in us-central1 (Iowa, United States). Account login lasts for the current browser session; sign out on shared devices.

Existing ChatGPT account stores remain in the original private hosting database. The two account systems are separate. We do not merge accounts or copy stores by matching email addresses. Export and import a backup yourself to transfer a store you control.

When you sign in and create or save a store, its tank readings, sales, load plans, address, pump prices, target margins, and competitor worksheet are saved privately to your account. You can open the same account from another device. Other customers cannot read or change your records.

Guest mode stores information only in this browser. It is not automatically uploaded when you sign in. Use “Save this device’s store” to transfer an existing guest store into your account. Export backups before clearing guest browser storage.

All operating details remain optional. Saved information is used only to deliver your FuelPilot features. Hosting and authentication providers process the records as necessary to operate your account; FuelPilot does not provide them for advertising, competitive analysis, or store-site selection.

The saved status confirms completed account writes. If a save fails or another device has newer changes, FuelPilot reports the problem. Export unsaved edits before leaving the page. Sign out on shared devices.

Reading photos and reminders

New tank-reading photos are processed only in browser memory for a temporary preview. They are not sent to a recognition service or saved in store records, browser storage, or exported backups. Sign in with your FuelPilot account and confirm the numeric reading before it is saved. The preview is cleared when you finish, cancel, change stores, sign out, leave the page, or after five minutes. Automatic recognition is not connected yet. Photos saved by older versions remain in existing records and backups until reviewed and removed; removing a current photo does not erase historical backups. Removing an old photo through FuelPilot preserves its numeric reading in the store history. FuelPilot does not delete original files on your device.

Notification preferences are saved per store. On-screen and optional browser reminders are evaluated while FuelPilot is open for the selected store; this is not closed-app monitoring. Browser permission is controlled separately on each device. Device notification text is generic and excludes store names, readings, and sales. No email or SMS notification service is connected.

Supplier email pricing

Email features require ChatGPT sign-in and a connected Gmail account. Gmail access is read-only. Extracted supplier-email records are stored under your Site-specific authenticated user ID and every query filters by that ID.

FuelPilot does not send email or place fuel orders. You can delete imported email records from Store settings.

Optional nearby competitors

If you enable automatic competitor search, saving the location sends its street address, city, state and ZIP to the US Census geocoder. The resulting coordinates and chosen radius are sent to the Private.coffee Overpass service (OpenStreetMap data) to find public fuel-station listings. No sales, inventory, margins, store name, email, or account identity are sent. Providers process requests under their own privacy practices. Results are saved privately with your store; we do not publish the relationship between your store and searched stations. Leave this option off to save the location without this lookup. The feature does not retrieve live pump prices or run in the background.

Market information

Optional local news and weather checks send only the city and state you select to Google News/Bing News, and the state to the National Weather Service, after you click Load local news & alerts. These search fields are not saved to your store. Your street address, sales, inventory, margins, and account identity are not included. National news requests do not include a store location. Providers process requests under their own privacy practices. Alerts are checked on request, not monitored in the background.

Market information comes from third-party providers and may be delayed. Opening a market or nearby-station map link shares the request with that provider and is subject to its privacy practices.
